What inspired you to join? I played a lot of sports growing up and tried out some different recreational sports as an adult, but nothing stuck. When Joyrider, my coworker, decided to join derby, without knowing anything about it, I decided to try it out. I was hooked after my first learn to skate practice!

What song should play whenever you step onto the track/into the bout? Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie

How did you come up with your derby name? I was going to be Pixie Dust, named after my dog Pixie, but it felt strange to be called my dog’s name… So I went with Stardust! I also like the correlation with my name being Star and being a jammer wearing the star.

Favorite pre- or post-derby snacks? Snowville chocolate milk!

What advice would you give someone who is considering joining a roller derby league? Derby will change your life—I’ve gained so much confidence in myself and lifelong friends from derby! And lots of bruises <3
