Want to help support Athens Ohio Roller Derby? We’re looking for sponsors to help fund our league! In return for your sponsorship, we are offering home bout and advertising perks throughout the season. From your contribution, we hope to continue growing as a league and bettering our community. With sponsorship funds, we will be able to continue our search for a sanctioned space to practice and potentially become WFTDA certified, which would in turn mean hosting more home bouts in Athens in the future. Our home bouts pull in hundreds of community members, the most being nearly 900!
Additionally, WOUB, Athens Messenger, Athens News, WTAP, and other publications come to cover the action. Your generous sponsorship will be prominently displayed in our community.

AORD GOALS AND EXPENSES

GOALS:

  • Have our own space to practice and host bouts

  • Host, at minimum, three home bouts each year (but ideally monthly or bi-monthly)

  • Grow the skater membership to support two teams: Appalachian Hell Betties and Black Diamond Betties

  • Continue to support local community through donations, promotions, and volunteering

AORD EXPENSES:

  • Practice space at Dow’s Rollerana, twice a week = $10,250 per year

  • Protective gear for new skaters: helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads = $200

  • Helmet covers = $80

  • Apparel/Merchandise = $2,400

  • Marketing = $500

  • Track storage = $1,000 per year

  • Community events = $200

  • Insurance = $300

  • Home bouts = $12,000

SKATER EXPENSES:

  • Skates = $300-900

  • Protective gear: mouth guard, helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads = $160-260

  • Jerseys = $75

  • Away bout travel = $100

  • Monthly dues = $250
