Built for the People Who Make Derby Possible

Whistles, Wheels & Worksheets Weekend (W³) is Athens Ohio Roller Derby's two-day officiating development clinic — designed from the ground up to invest in officials and NSOs as essential contributors to the sport.

While skater-focused derby events are common, structured development for officials is rare. W³ fills that gap. Over two days, participants work through movement fundamentals, positioning labs, scenario drills, and live scrimmage experience with coaching support throughout.

The clinic intentionally treats skaters, referees, and NSOs as equal and interconnected parts of the derby ecosystem. Day 2 includes a structured scrimmage where skating officials and NSOs work together with new skaters — building the crew communication that makes real games flow.

This event is designed to be financially and culturally accessible, with low registration fees and a welcoming environment for newer officials at any stage of their development.
