What inspired you to join? The community and culture of the league - the welcomingness and inclusivity of roller derby is something really special and AORD embodies that.

What song should play whenever you step onto the track/into the bout? CC Rider, the Grateful Dead version, obviously. (See derby name answer for context.)

How did you come up with your derby name? My first name and middle initial are both C, so growing up my mom called me CC. That part came easily. I was looking for something to pair with it and remembered a song my favorite band, the Grateful Dead, played occasionally - CC Rider. I figured that even though I don't currently skate, the Rider part would work perfectly for when I do!

Favorite pre- or post-derby snacks? Pre: Bobo's oat bite/bar. Post: something nourishing and satisfying like a really good burger or sushi.

What advice would you give someone who is considering joining a roller derby league? The culture and community are the best parts. Make sure you understand the time commitment involved and show up to events! Also, don't assume you have to skate. There are a variety of roles, from skaters to super supporters to board members, so look into what fits you best.
