What year did you join the league? 2026

Role(s): BDB Skater

What inspired you to join? I’d been going to bouts and been considering the AORD Learn to Skate workshop for a couple of years. I also have a few friends who skate, and the community always seemed so welcoming and supportive, which made me want to give it a try. It helped that my two besties were able to join me for the workshop in fall 2025, too. Overall, I just wanted to try something new and challenge myself.

What song should play whenever you step on the derby track/into the derby bout? It’s Baddie. Dr. Apple, if you’re nasty. 🙂

How did you come up with your derby name? I literally had a list of 30 possible names that my friends and I came up with. However, I think Bad Apple is pretty perfect.

Favorite pre- or post-derby snacks? PB&J sammies all day. And water, lots of water.

What advice would you give someone who is considering joining a roller derby league? Do it to it. If you are interested in derby at all, talk to someone in a league and consider becoming a skater, an official, a volunteer, or taking up some other role; there is a place for everybody and every body in derby.
