What inspired you to join? My roller derby seed was planted in 2014 in Athens, GA, when a close friend got involved with Classic City Roller Derby and I found myself at my first bout. I had absolutely no idea what I was walking into, and I was completely hooked by the time it was over. I made myself a promise that someday, I was going to lace up and play, too! Ten years later, I landed in another Athens and discovered it came with its own badass, passionate, scrappy Appalachian roller derby league. I jumped in the minute I could and haven't looked back since. ❤️

How did you come up with your derby name? I absolutely agonized over picking a derby name! 😂 I wanted something totally fresh, with no ties to anything that defined me before derby. I have a large ivy vine tattoo as a symbol of resilience, so I was drawn to "Ivy," and "Wild" began as an aspiration, but I think I'm getting closer to earning that adjective! 🌿

Favorite pre- or post-derby snacks? Pre-bout: Huge smoothie with all the things. Post-bout: Any food is acceptable as long as there's a beer! 🍺

What advice would you give someone who is considering joining a roller derby league? It has been one of the most challenging and rewarding pursuits of my life, and I've met the most wonderful people while doing it. What are you waiting for?!
